The winner of the 2012 Farmers Apprentice is set to be revealed in tonight’s dramatic final episode.

The fifth and final instalment will be screened live at 7.30pm on the Farmers Apprentice website when viewers will find out which of our 10 young aspiring farmers has done enough to win the £10,000 prize.

With all of their tasks completed, we’ll take a look back at our contestants’ highlights at bootcamp, before making a special journey to surprise our winning apprentice.

Excitement is building online ahead of the final as viewers speculate who might be in the running for the prize.

“I don’t envy the #FarmApprentice judges the job of picking a winner. All candidates are dedicated,” wrote one of our Twitter followers.

Another wrote: “Wow I’m not really sure who will win #farmapprentice! Have arranged to be in one place with internet for Thursday though.”

The five-part Farmers Apprentice series follows 10 farming hopefuls at bootcamp as they compete for a £10,000 prize to kick-start their career in agriculture.

All the tasks they encountered reflect real life farming challenges, from handling livestock and using GPS technology to navigating a top-of-the range tractor and presenting a business pitch to a panel of high-profile judges.
