Leading poultry producer Lloyd Maunder has changed its name to 2 Sisters Willand.

The change comes after the company was acquired by 2 Sisters Food Group in January.

Since the acquisition of Lloyd Maunder at the beginning of the year, 2 Sisters has expanded its specialist chicken range and begun to establish the West Country operation as a UK “centre of excellence.”

Peter King, 2 Sisters PR spokesman, said: “The repositioning of Lloyd Maunder within the 2 Sisters Food Group will allow us to continue to supply customers with a range of affordable choices. This means supplying the highest quality chicken, at the least cost, without compromise.”

“The team at Willand brings with them a wealth of technical and marketing experience and we look forward to growing our locally sourced West Country range as an important part of our business.”

Richard Maunder, 2 Sisters Willand site director said: “The recent investment in Willand has enabled us to lift throughput from 480,000 birds per week at the beginning of the year to 650,000 and rising. This in turn has created some additional 100 jobs in the local economy.”

“The investment by 2 Sisters will provide the opportunity to innovate further, expand production and specialise, and ultimately remain one step ahead in a very competitive world.”

2 Sisters Food Group is already a renowned processor of fresh and prepared chicken and supplies retail, foodservice and food manufacturing sectors.
