The Ray Estate, near Kirkwhelpington, Northumberland, is the latest country estate to submit plans to build a wind farm.
An application has been given to the Secretary of State to build up to 20 turbines on the estate, potentially generating 60 megawatts, enough for 35,000 households.
Hexham-based AMEC is the contractor behind the application.
The company said in a statement: “Through the detailed environmental work we have carried out, we are confident that our proposal is appropriate for the environment in which it is sited.”
The public will be able to view the full planning submission in the New Year.
