The steelworks of a new grain storage and drying facility emerge on the skyline at Great Yarmouth docks.
Grain trader Gleadell has commissioned an 18,000t flat-floor store alongside a state-of-the-art on-floor dryer. A mobile ship-loader capable of shifting up to 1000t/hour will load vessels of up to 25,000t. The company says the investment at the deep water facility will allow it to load bigger vessels, giving it access to a number of new markets much further afield than previously.
It offers a considerable increase in capacity for the company but means a shift away from East Anglia’s other smaller ports.
