YFC 2009: More pictures and Sunday’s winners announced

Sunday was a day for winners at the YFC convention in Blackpool, with it marking the final of the pantomime, the naming of senior member of the year and the day of reckoning for Farmers Weekly Golden Ticket holders.

The pantomime final was as hard-fought as ever with Herefordshire’s Golden Valley eventually clinching the prize ahead of Llandovery in Wales and Belllingham in Northumberland.

An audience member described Herefordshire’s production, called Where’s There a Will, as “really well acted and laugh out loud funny in places”.

The senior member of the year title was awarded to Caroline Dawson from Cilcain YFC, Wales.

The 25-year old performed successfully during the rigorous interview process allowing her to take the coveted title.

Finally, a team from Kent won FW’s Blackpool Golden Ticket competition.

The guys and girls from Ashford managed to locate a massive 11 of the 30 FW Golden Tickets, which were stashed around Blackpool.

Competition had been fierce between Clubs from the instant FW planted the tickets (they were in spots as diverse as phone boxes and pub toilets) but the south east club were adamant as soon as they located their first one that they were going to bag the winning spot.

Their prize is a photoshoot later this year, with one of their club events appearing in FW.
