On a farm visit today outside Cork city, A visiting vet informed the client that there were large lumps formed on the cows after vaccination programme. There was effectively a breakdown in the vaccination programme. This was due to dirty needles which created local infections and these formed abcess's under the cows skin. Advice here is to ensure the use of new needles on a routine basis on a vaccination programme.Change needles between cows as the vet informed the client that at least 10% of cows that go through a vaccination programme are not vaccinated at all.
