Visited a dairy farm outside Bushmills, County Antrim today where a robotic parlour was installed with 150 cows. 2 Robots milking same. The cows were at grass with this system and because of the wet year this year, the farmer claimed he was loosing about 2 years of milking over that expected. He claims that the cows come in from grass to the robot to be milked and return to grass. This system is completely automated and requires minimal input from a labour perspective.
