He his-self's Blog

Shearing Day

Still feeling the after effects of yesterdays annual battle to get the wool off our 430 odd sheep. Another year older and another yard slower as the Aussie shearer said! The best thing about today is that it is the longest possible time before we have to do it again.

Next year it will have to be done earlier as we are having one our family reunions which means we all fly  to meet up with relatives we never see regularly and try to catch up with the last 5 years or so of life, farming used to be a very local business with people lucky to leave the home parish now the family is spread over 3 continents and the Internet is essential to maintain links and spread ideas.

When it comes to a party however we are still asked to bring the beefParty!!!

This is hopefully the start of a semi regular blog about life and times on this family's farm and all of the family's thoughts and comments on things in general.
