Evening!
What a day! I am knackered! I been lambing today and were in full swing. Lambing proves to be positive with results around 200% so the boss seems to be pleased. We have a few sets of triplets and a couple of ''poddy'' lambs which are getting bottle fed now.
With it being my first time with sheep, its went very well! This morning i arrived, and me and the boss got started with getting the jackets on the lambs, then got them out of the small shed and into the field with the ewes and loaded up the trailer and re-stocked that shed. That was relatively painless, apart from the 2 that escaped but all was well! Then i mucked out, disinfected, bedded up and fed up. We also needed to spray a couple of numbers etc. By this time, we had a few new arrivals which didnt need help so we penned them in and we were pretty sorted- by that point the gaffers in laws had arrived so i went for my lunch- how glad was i to see a full lunch box and cuppa t!!!!
I really enjoyed it - i dont know if i will be saying that by the end of next week when the boss has me doing the night duty?! We have had 2 faitalities i think, we will soon see though after the snow.
I have uploaded some pics onto the gallery!
