Bits and bobs

Since my last post, shearing has been started and finished. Ewes and tups were all sheared, and the lambs, tups and ewes were all clicked.

The pheasants arrived on saturday - despite it being a foggy, miserable, drizzly day, the birds were in good shape and looked very well and very well feathered so they have now been put out into release pens. Aswell as pheasants this week our ducks have been turned out into there release pens. Hopefully, everything is going well, they are getting daily checks and hopefully, after the great start they have had, they will grow quickly and put decent size on ready for them to be released completely. Hopefully, predator control shouldn't be much of an issue however it still worries me that i could turn up and find that the coming seasons game is no longer there! With only so much you can control, its left to making sure that the pens are secure and safe - hopefully too strong for badgers and the like!

Away from the farm, slightly better smelling, looking and feeling, it was our end of year 'prom' on friday night. It was a great night to mark the end of school! My tractor test is coming up - i dont really want to announce that to every Tom, Dick and Harry as im not feeling optimistic!! Lets see how we get on!

For a change i didnt look like.............................

I was slightly smarter (dont ask about the pose....i really dont know!)..........
