    Air seat

Hi, the air seat on our New Holland has stopped working. The fuse has blown, and I've replaced it but no joy. The new fuse hasn't blown, any ideas?

    Thanks

    Re: Air seat

Check wires under the seat have not been cut, if make them longer and reroute, has been common on our JD seats

    Re: Air seat

It could be the fancy switch has packed up (mine did!) I just got the wires, rerouted them to a hooter switch I put under the front of the seat. You need a spring loaded switch like a horn so you don't leave the pump running accidentally! You won't have the weight sensing inflation anymore, but the deflation is still weight sensing if you push the old lever down.

Thanks for your replies. Got it sorted this morning. Wires had frayed under the seat....by this morning the tractor wouldn't even move, so had to call out the dealer. Easy fix really. ( if you know what to look for !!! )

That's what your actual dealer is for!! Best to keep him in a job or he'll not be there when ya need him eh..

    Re: Air seat

I had a back window smash a couple of years ago. I normally put a new one in myself, but decided to use the dealer and claim on the insurance. After 3 trips out by fitters, I pretty much fitted it myself then got a bill for over £700 from the dealer. I have no intention of supporting their service department again!!

    Whhhat, Dealers with fitters???

Sureley they should be tecnichians!! I've fit many a window but only after checking that the ironmongery is servicable. Many's the time yr actual customer implies the window broke all on its own & "we only need the glass". When ya get to the job, the trained eagle eye tech spots the bent hinge which touches the cab frame way before the window closes!!

I did however spoil a back window once while fitting a hedgecutter, Oops, left the window open while operating the controls through the door. Anyhows, at least he could see his shiny new machine through my clean new glass!! ( Always sit on the seat when operating etc.....)
