are you allergic to the lanolin, my arms come up in blotches and turn slighty red, all i do is put on aloe vera gel on and it cools my arms back to normal.

Are you allergic to sheep or is it the Hay that your feeding them ? I always get a rash on my arms and sneezing etc at lambing and I have now realised it is the hay causing it. Sometimes the rash is worse if I have used cheap lubricant gel to assist with lambing. I now only use Lubrel ( bought from the vets ). I find antihistamene tablets help a great deal.

    Hope this helps.

    what straw do you use?

my brother gets red blotchy arms if we bed down with barley straw, hes alergic to the mites in it,He usually gets a cream from the doctor that sorts out the itching.

Fatso, I may try putting Aloe Vera on after handling sheep as I have eczema and the lanolin really aggrivates it.

    Thanks,
