I studied at both Lackham College (Wiltshire College) and Hartpury, both good colleges, Lackham did a very good ND course with a good balance between practical and theory, and Hartpury was very good with a new parlour, and even though the numbers on the course were quite small I actually think that worked well as we were able to get more dedicated time and help from the lecturers!!

Tim, you have listed the main options. I was at Newcastle 1977 to 1980, and it is still a great Uni today. Harper Adams does produce some of the most rounded and practical graduates also.

Well, the Royal Agricultural College is the top AGRICULTURAL college in the country. Before anyone says Harper, just remember that they changed their name from 'Harper Adams Agricultural College' to 'Harper Adams University College'!

Agree with you Gulli. I've worked with a few people who went to Reading and they all speak very highly of the place.

Well, the Royal Agricultural College is the top AGRICULTURAL college in the country. Before anyone says Harper, just remember that they changed their name from 'Harper Adams Agricultural College' to 'Harper Adams University College'!

Perhaps you ought to remember that the Harper farm has increased from 200 acres to 1400 acres. The RAC farms have gone from what, couple thousand to about 30 as they couldn't make them pay. Thay now rent back a couple hundred acres to teach the toffs how to shoot and drive in a straight line without damaging too much. I'm sorry but it's a pretty poor AGRICULTURAL College that can't keep it's own farms running!

And as if anymore proof were needed, look at the University League tables and you find that Harper Adams is the second best in the country for teaching quality and 96% of graduates gain full time employment within 6 months, and the other 4% have gone travelling! Where does Ciren feature in the tables? So far down they aren't even printed!!!!! 700 have chosen to go to Harper in this years intake, how many have chosen Ciren, not even half that!

You may return to your Tweed shopping welshwizard!
