    Big bale hay prices

Due to last summers drought in our area, I am a bit short of fodder. A bit further west in the Brecon area it is said that most farmers made a lot of hay and silage. I wonder what price big bale hay is making at the moment. I have heard between £20- £25, Is this on the mark?  Is there much for sale about?

I bought some nice sheep hay in June for £120 / ton delivered. The merchant said the other day he'd gladly buy it back if I wanted to sell at a profit.

Up till now grass has been growing in the south and loads of hay and silage made in the dry autumn so unless weather really turns its going to get cheaper fast. Sellers always panic if barn full in January. So different to last year when it was coming down from the north for £180 a ton!

There is still a bit of a shortfall in the south east.
