well new hollands official website is alright. You could just google new holland and ford. And if it's books or dvd's you after... plenty at agricultural shows, or Amazon is pretty useful (I've bought fordson books and dvd's there). And if you want to get technical about a specific model, then workshop manuals are the way to go.

www.tractordata.com is a website i commonly use, sometimes limmited in data, but sometimes got that little bit of info you want.

So...Wrexhamblueboy......not much useful information for you from the blogs so far !

    IMHO  :

    1.  Yes, Training or service manuals ( probably at £ 80 - 100 + a time )   / DVDs  / CD's  if you can aquire them  ( from 'friends in the trade etc ')   but with current electronic technology  you may be hard pushed to follow the Diagnostic data, because you will need software etc to follow what is going on.    That is hard to come by unless you are a franchised dealer.  You will get internal structural information in pictures, and operators manuals provide a lot of information regarding specifications.  ( probably £ 15- 30 ea. if not in your tractor )

    2. If you really want to go into depth you will almost certainly have to enrole as a mechanic at a franchised dealer for some years and attend Manufacturer training courses.

Almost everything on most current build machines is activated / controlled via an electronic controller.  Engine, Hitch, front susp. transmission, aircon., Aux valves etc.   Usually you can only see what's happening / failing by plugging in a laptop or analyser with the correct software ( which incidentally is constantly changing with updates )  except some minor stuff you may find accessible by viewing error codes or flashing light sequences. to the operator via an onboard computer in the dashboard.  Check your operator manual.

Hey bud, a local boy! Big Smile

You could try visiting Malpas Tractors on Wrexham Industrial Estate, they might help you out on a quiet day, and they'd be handy for getting hold of any New Holland books and equipment.

Do you collect tractors, work on a farm or just enjoy reading and learning about the industry?

Oh, and your name's not Woody, is it?  Just checking.......
