Case Maxxum Multicontroller 120 or 125

Hi folks I'm looking to buy either a 4 pot 120 or 6 pot 125. I have a contracting business and it will be used for transporting plant and hauling materials in a 12t dump trailer. The 120 is top of the list at the moment as I like the slighter weight and dimensions for loader work and use in tighter spaces. I have a 6 pot 110hp mf 6160 at the moment so I am wary about the 4 cylinder as a replacement. Any thoughts or advice would be great!

    Now Then..

I'd try a JD6430 Premium.. Do you have good brakes air or hydraulic on your trailer???

     Hey guys

    Thanks for your thoughts.

The choice of a case is a dealer driven one as I am very limited and have a good relationship with local case guys.

    Any thoughts on original post?

    Hi Marty,

I'd go 6 cyl every time unless you're doing a hell of a lot of loader work. The 6 cyl will have more grunt as well as being slightly heavier, which should theoretically provide more grip. Usually a 6 cylinder won't be as bouncy because of the slightly longer wheelbase. Are you going 40 or 50 km ?

Good on you for sticking to your "Case" guns. I too believe that supporting your trustworthy local dealer is important. I've no doubt that John Deere's are good tractors, but, are they really worth the extra 10 grand ? Probably not !

Let us know what you decide.

     Hi Welshnwilling

That is definitely sound advice, thanks.

I'll let you know when the new one arrives, which ever it is!
