Hello Joshua, I have been watching this thread with interest, hoping that it might start a discussion on feed. I can't believe that nobody has replied. Very often I,ll consider buying a different feed through a recommendation from someone who I see turning out good cattle in the mart etc. To answer your questions though I'd say that quality has to come first every time as long as it's not costing an arm and a leg. As far as results and kg/head etc. you can only find that out for yourself after using the new feed for a while. You can't rely on reps' recomendations too much. Their tests are done in controlled situations and only the best figures are used (alledgedly). To be honest I think that you will not beat maize silage for growing and fattening cattle plus wheat and oats with a good protien balancer and plenty of soya, and if you see the manger empty fill it up again quickly. I hope this helps a little and you gain your degree. I would have loved to have had an ology .
