Many of the solutions rest at farm level - understanding the reasons behind rejects and taking action to prevent them. But I'm often told that some producers are unhappy with the level of rejects and question whether they are being treated fairly and consistently. One even told me that his rejects shot up after he had written to the local newspaper to complain about the price he was receiving. I'm not sure how true that is, but there is seldom smoke without fire....
