    Energy crops and bio-diesel

This is merely a continuation of a previous thread. I believe the use of bio-diesel would be a big step forward, and i am certain that TESCOs recent launch of the product at a select few of their forecourts will help the idea no end. However, i am unclear as to whether i would be able to operate my car safely on the fuel. It is a turbodiesel and only a T REG, so can i use bio-diesel from this source without problems? Perhaps the more mechanically informed amongst us will be able to provide the answer. I thought that cars can use the fuel without modification provided it was only a certain proportion of rape oil. And for Jack/ Tristan: ref nuclear power from France, yes i did assume that ths would be nuclear, since France has a host of reactors, and seems to be able to operate them more successfully than us- at least in financial terms. Whether this is the most favoured method of electricity generation is anyones guess, since its environmental impact is negligible when compared to coal or oil fired power stations, although it does present questions about waste storage etc. Mayo
