    Food price war

Asda is cutting its milk price to 50p for two pints this weekend to help out its cash-strapped customers. It is also cutting the price of staples such as eggs, bread, vegetables and milk.

Tesco also launched an economy line of milk this week, and I noticed Morrisons had cut the price of some of its veg down to 50p last week.

Has anyone else spotted any dramatic price cuts?

I see Tesco has been running adverts claiming "inflation-busting" price rises. Do consumers not wonder who funds these? Given the fact that supermarkets have shareholders to answer to and are looking for growth, I can assume it is not them...
