iv been quoated £7300 for a new major 1600 gallon slurry tanker on 28.1 wheels sprung drawbar
and £7100 for a new connor same spec
good value or not
Hi, both are Irish built tanks so I'm not trying to sell you anything. In our neck of the woods Major would have a better residual value. All the larger vacuum tankers in this area would be Major. Conor tend to be of a lighter construction. Hope this helps we don't run any ourselves.
dont want to b awkard but arnt both made of the same steel (6mm)
so basicaly the same tankers
But the steel in the tank won't give you the bother, it's the small stuff like wheel bearings and pipe fittings. And of course the secondhand value is important or are you going to keep it for good?
think i might buy the major as it is only slightly dearer and seem to b the most popular with a slightly higher spec unfortunaly alot longer of a waiting list
alot the conor had a nice paint finish on it
I don't suppose Conor would move another little bit, and it would be a win win for you?
He'd surely take 7 for it, if its in stock? Or did you try him with 6.9 to see what he'd say?
we have just bought a new Hi Spec 2300gallon tanker that was priced cheeper than the same spec Major. And to my mind there seems to be no differance in build quality, i no that time will tell, but so far it performed well.
