    Harvard and Eggs

Read the article on the Home page if you have not already done so. More people will see the post on this board than they would on the Poultry Platform.

Harvard is the place that all egg producers were lauding about 11 or 12 years ago because they announced that eating at least one egg a day was good for you. I assume that somebody with a vested interest in vegetable oils paid for the latest research.

In my youth I would consume at least four eggs a day, this later reduced to about two, and then increased to five or six because I was an egg producer again, working hard, not raising my own beef, and really needing the protein. I now eat whatever three hens produce (shared with my wife) so not as many as before. Do I have prostrate cancer? No idea. Do I have high cholesterol? No idea. Do I have high blood pressure? No idea. Do I have a heart problem? No idea. Do I enjoy life? Yes.

I am way past my sell by date, and have had no need to see a doctor for many years. Enjoy life and ignore the doomsayers. Have you ever had a doctor tell you that you are fit and healthy and need no medication whatsoever?

I liked the story but particularly appreciated the link to the hundreds of scare mongering stories that were 'incorrect.'

What is it about the human race that wants to he frightened by food health scares?
