    Hay prices

    Made some 5ft round hay and haylage this week what are people charging per 5ft roound bale. In bedfordshire and had no rain only got half normal yield but dont think I will get double this year charged £30 per round last year

    I heard new season round bale hay made £80 at auction last week.  Check the FG.
    Do as you would be done by.

     That would cover my costs are people really buying at that price I was thinking more around the £50 mark

    It also depends on who your selling it to. As if it is going for horses you can charge more. As we got a couple of horses and just bought some hay at a cost of £70 a bale and got 3 bales to a ton so£210 a ton. Which is expensive but it is good quality and the horses eat it all so not going to moan.
