If you work with sheep I need your help

    Hello,

I will be completely honest here and tell you that I recently met a girl through a dating website. Apparently seven in ten single people have tried it now. She seems really nice - very good fun and a little quirky, she has a thing for off the wall musings and I am hoping that you can help me with this one.

    Do sheep have eyebrows?

Okay. I have googled this and found nothing authoritative on the subject. I think she would be flattered at the effort I'd made so if you can shed some light here to help a potential romance I would be extremely grateful!

    Many thanks.

They  'sort of'' in the sense that the wool is slightly different (shorter or differently coloured)  on the eyebrow area. The exact distinction is however, breed dependent. We had a severe case of peri-orbital eczema in a Dorset Down last year and she lost all her wool around the eyes and the eyebrows were, in that instance noticable by their absence rather than by their presence.

When one is shearing, one is also very carefull when running the clippers around the eye and, in my case, I cover the eye with my left and to make sure that I protect the eye of the sheep at risk to my own hand of course. (So far so good)

All the best with your romantic aspirations. Cherish her and she will be a joy for life.

I've never noticed eyebrows on my sheep, but then I can only see their eyes in the summer months before their fringes grow over their faces again! They have got beautiful eyelashes though!Smile
