    International B276

My mate has just got a international B276 it was in bits when he got it and we have been building it up. We are just about to getting ready to start it, but the only thing is that we are not so sure about the polarity of the battery because the posative clamp goes to the main body of the tractor and the negative clamp to the starter moter. Is this right because as it is usally that the main body of the tractor is negertive or has some one put the clamps on the wrong lead. Any help would be helpfull, thanks

If it has a dynamo  and control box as original it will be + earth but if someone has converted it to an alternator for better charging it will be - earth. You can easily change a dynamo to - earth if you want to by flashing the F terminal to the side of the battery you wish to be the live terminal  (+ in this case).  -earth is supposed to stop the body corroding due to electrolytic action which is why the change to was made in the 1970's

Great to see another new  face.

Yes positive earth, not great output from the dynamo for charging the battery, but that's the way.

Nice to see you're still mates, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger Wink

    Did you join specially ?
