Absolutely first class. Relevent, pertinant, should be made compulsive viewing in every school, at last a programme about  british farming that gives an unbiased and informative view.

I look forward to next weeks episode.

It definitely is better than his last show. It was an inspiring watch, and showed a good view on farming which is needed.

    Re: Jimmy on BBC2

Your all saying what i was thinking! He explains why we need certain things (migrant workers, combines etc) and also explains why we produce food - instead of Hugh F-W who basically slater farmers who werent organic or free range. I though along with Jimmy the farmers he focused on did a great job too - its things like which shows people our industry that makes me proud to be associated with it! Get it into schools and more into the public eye - well done to them!!

P.S. When the combine appeared, i was getting the harvest buzz! haha

I watched it and was pleased to finally see something on mainstream TV that gave a positive view of farming and didn't rely on the 'Darling buds of May' image! Many of us take it for granted, but I have a few non-farming friends who are amazed at the technology used in ag....one didn't believe me when I said tractors (....ok, some tractors!) have CD players and air con!

Spot on Hareley,  and it is nice to see all the other positve comments on this programme here.. At Last!! television has put on a farming programme that  is really worthwhile and sensible. I watched it with my brother-in-law and we were saying exactly the things that Hareley has posted. I have had a quick look over to BBC2 site to see what comments are coming in from the public but have not found anything yet.

I hope that Jimmy and his production team see this Forum as this feed-back is so important.  Can you help there Isabel?

I only hope that the following programmes continue in the same light. Well done Jimmy, - so far. I look forward to next Tuesday's.

i turned it on not expecting to see what i saw, i was imagining soemthing along the lines of a hugh fw programme but when i turned it on i thought it was an excellent programme with jimmy not being overbearing trying to get some point across and take the programme away from farming. it was interesting all the way through from my point of view. the way it was put across hopefully will mean that its easy and enjoyable to watch no matter how much knowledge of farming you have

Isabel; any chance FW could get an interview with Jimmy Doherty?

I'm sure it would make interesting reading.

Thought last night's show was interesting too. More science-based than the last one (and perhaps not as representative of mainstream farming) but the words he used to describe the farmers were things like: ambitious, forward-looking and innovative. Great to have such positive language being bandied around in relation to an industry which has constantly been in 'crisis'.
