kill it, cut it, use it

Really interested but also makes you realise how disresectful and naive modern society has become. What are your thoughts?

The chap with the black coat in the leather factory was incredibly disrespectful, playing the 'hard man', made him look silly and arrogant in my opinion, but I agree with the lady in the china factory, if were are killing animals for any use, at least do them the respect of using the other parts, rather than binning them.  Didn't know about the foam though, an interesting use for calf feet, I would never have thought of it.

missed most of the leather bit unfortunately. the rest of it was fairly interesting although i didnt like the daft woman who was presenting it.

interesting point about all the horns, bones and hooves being imported (or most of them at least) thought it contradicted the point that all of the cow was used to make stuff when most of the waste from slaughter in this country has to be destroyed for health reasons

I'm surprised this programme is as popular as it is. Doubt if it gets massive ratings - but I've heard quite a few people say they watch it.

Hopefully proves the public are interested in where their food comes from and how it's produced...

I'm finding it fascinating - especially how they 'dress' things up, for example tallow. It is used in so many things yet it is never called tallow directly, just hidden in a chemical name most folk would gloss over. I'm looking forward to the pig episode next week, mostly to see if they've found a use for the squeal!

The sheep one made me wonder if a truly vegan lifestyle is actually possible any more, not that I wish to try it.

I totally agree and I really support the fact that the public are being given the opportunity to face up to where the remains of the animals are used and I found it very interested and am glad that all of the animal is used in one way or another, I was just very disappointed in the lack of respect shown towards to animals...at the end of the day it still came down to 'well if thats where my leather has to come from, so be it' which disgraceful!! x
