    Kuhn 40.1w fertiliser spreader

Has anyone had problems with their Kuhn 40.1w fertiliser spreader? We have a 2009 model  and we are having problems with the inaccuracy. It can be up to  20kg/ha over in one field and right in the next. We have all the latest field maps with the correct ha on.

Good grief, do you call that inaccurate ? I'd be chuffed to bits if I could get it that near.

Obviously you are using a guidance system, what make is it and how intelligent is it to use? If you reduce forward speed does that help? Does it ever under apply? Are you using it's own control box, supplied by Kuhn or are you using the tractor control centre via ISO bus?

Would 20kg/ha be a large percentage of the fertiliser applied per ha?

    The dealer can't help.

ours has been good spread 1000hec with no problem. Have heard of people with varying box problems though. Kuhn insisted on doing upgrade to ours this year as some have been bad.

Damn. I was looking at one of these as a replacement for my MDS 1142, which never has been very accurate at all.

Have Kuhn been helpful in resolving your issues?

I find odd shape fields are impossible to get right, how does the machine measure forward speed? Radar or wheel sensor. Ire calibrate all the sensors on the bredal machines a couple of times during the season.
