    What's lumpy wool ?

Take a wool sample from as close to the skin as possible, to your local vet lab or vet and get it tested. There's no point treating for lice if your sheep have scab etc etc

As a rule of thumb though, scab usually starts at the ears and shoulders, the sheep will scratch the itchy area with it's hind leg, leaving a dirty area on the neck and shoulder.

Lice usually seem to cause wool loss all over the body with bits of wool being plucked out by the sheep with it's teeth. Sheep affected with lice will often have bits of wool stuck in their teeth.

Don't try and guess which is the problem though, get it tested and treat accordingly, or dip the sheep. Dip does them all. It's good stuff !

You can some times see the lice in the sheep's wool with a magnifying glass. Has many tried sheep showering compared to dipping does it work as well?

Showers are ok for keeping the fly's off but no use for controlling scab.

To have sufficient cover for blowfly, you need to shower the sheep monthly throughout the summer months.
