Has anyone known of a MF windscreen to suddenly shatter. This was on a near new 50k 6400. I believe the thickness differs between the 40k and the 50k with the 50k actually thinner.
never heard of this its maybe just one of those things.
i know dad broke a back window when cutting the side of the road with an old mower. he hit a stone and ping, smash and lots of money gone

I find it very hard to believe they would fit different thickness glass to different models. I would have said the cabs all come off the same line, possibly built long before they ever got assigned / attached to a particular tractor ??
tractor mad coco:lots of money gone
I'd say it took him a while to get over the shock, all that money ........

bovril:Is this how MF get the extra 10km/hr out of it?!!!!
No that'll be the carbon fibre body.
Yes, the 50kph windscreen is thinner by design than the screen fitted to 40kph models, but is laminated to prevent shatter. This I understand is to meet EU legistlation.

Seriously ?
or it might be that your tractor was originally intended for 40K and has been uprated to 50? Do you know if this could be the case?
To be fair, glass wouldn't be covered by warranty in any vehicle, so why a tractor?
A few years back the drop arm adjuster on the three point linkage was a problem under warranty. When it gave trouble it would bend and take out the two back lower windows.
No warranty on the glass, even though it was obvious why it broke
