I have a Seppi mulcher, the bearings are very easy to get to. You take the drive belts off, undo 8 bolts on each bearing housing and lift the machine off its rotor. Then you just hook the seals & circlips out and pull the housings and bearings off the rotor.
I have no experience of any other makes but I found it much easier than on any of my flail mowers.
