hello guys i am looking to buy a good grass cutter to cut 2 acres fast....looking for a towable type.ie back of tractor or range rover......only got £2000 budget...regards nel 07521053827

About fifteen years ago I bought an Amex topper with a trailing wheel and which is really good for clearing old pasture up to about 5 feet hight. (I have cleared fields of scrub higher than I was seater on the Dexta tractor) It needs a pto to drive it which you could from a tractor but not a Range Rover. 

It has shear pin and mine is 6.6"' cut. I think they do wider models and would recommend you have a look at them. However, bear in mind I am more of a smallholder at 60 acreas, that most of the guys on the forum.

I got it from a company I think around Kidderminster somewhere. If you email me I will dig out the old invoice.

For £2000 you could buy an electric fence, some sheep, and have plenty of change left. You would save on fuel, and have meat for the freezer and plenty more to sell!

 Why not just get a local farmer in?

I fully agree with bovril!   Few ewes or few young lambs, some electric fence and water, Bobs your Uncle you got yourself a grass cutter, with a supply of meat when ready. Brilliant idea!   or in me case, rent your field out to a local sheep keeper save you the hassle of buying the things and looking after they.

What, with it's own engine? Thats a hellishly expensive way of looking after two acres. A local farmer could have cut the field fourty times for 2K...

I'd have paid you to let me put my sheep in there!
