    Hens foot deformities

Two of our four Hens have developed round growths at the end of their nails. They clomp around like they are wearing wooden shoes. I noticed it on just one a short while ago, but it has now spread to a second Hen. I'd appreciate any knowledge/input anyone can offer. Thank You. -- JimM

Interesting thought and I wish it were that simple, but I don't believe so. These hens have lived in the same environment for a few years now and this is just something that has arisen in the past few months. They have a good amount of space, a small garage sized shed and also get some outside time. -- JimM

This sounds like a case of hypothesisia which can only be treated by vets.  If you leave it too late, however, the ends of the toes will drop off and this could be fatel.
