A Chinese farmer has completed a successful maiden voyage in his home-made one man submarine.

Tao Xiangli, 34, a migrant worker in Beijing with only a primary school education, spent 18 months making the 1.5m high, 6.5m long sub.

Can you beat that...?

Could I build a submarine?  Yes, no problem.

Am I going to?  No.   I can think of many more pleasurable ways of spending my time.

Actually, come to think of it I did build a 3' model one (which worked) out of tin cans and a lot of solder when I was about 13.

 could build one weather it would work or not is another matter
