Straights?

    Straights?

     Hi every one.

    I just can't make up my mind. whether to buy in soya beans for approx £280-£300 a ton, or to have field beans and grind down.

    I know soya is much higher in protien and use less.

    What are your opinions?

    Have you considered Rape Meal, is pretty similar to soya but a fraction of the cost!!

    Feeding winter cattle 15/24 month they have to grow to finish 850+kgs cheap as possible, with good grass silage

    Rape Meal,                     Soya,                 field beans.

    what protein%                   "                            "

    Rapemeal is 40% Crude Protien £159/t

    Beef

    Can be used as the only protein inclusion in beef diets with levels of up to 25 – 30 % of the

    concentrate fraction of the ration

     

    Soya meal is 59% Crude Protein £307/t

    Beef

    Include at levels up to 1kg per 100kg of liveweight up to a maximum of 4kg per day.
