Just need a bit of help. What doya do if ya girlfriend refuses to drive a tractor???

She just down right refuses & says she's never going to!! She needs help!!

If I may be so personal and ask "Is She A Townie"? If she is, just walk away while you still can. A friend of mine got involved with one of those a while back, and it wasn't pleasant.

If she's one of us and once a more up to date model well theres hope, counseling is always an option (for you her or both). And your well on the way down that road by joining us. This is just counseling without the bills. Maybe you should look at the broader picture, surely she has her plus points? Or maybe not? I suppose changing the tractor to one in her favorite colour wouldn't be an option? Theres always the wheelbarrow, now its not difficult to drive, and easy to paint.

just tell the young lass that you won't be getting her anything for valentines day.

She may do but she'd probably just get offended!!

Its strange becuz she'll ride on & drive pretty much anything else (including me haha)

Shes fine with landies & quads etc but for some reason not tractors!!

And yes, she was born in a town but moved to the country when she was 4 so shes not really a townie.

mine is exactly the same. been with her years and she's spent hours in the forager, combine and tractor cab with me at all hours of the day and night.

as soon as i get out my seat she jumps straight in it but if i say 'can you just press that button' or 'please pull that lever' cause she does know what they all do, she refuses point blank. her explination is that if she drives or even opperates any part of the machinery even once then she'll be expcted to do it again and thinks that this will end up with her having to drive on her own when i'm busy with something else.

I'd shake her by the hand. Partly because having divergent interests gives you more to talk about over the years of married drudgery. Did I say drudgery? I meant champagne picnics and roses! Oh, and secondly, if she were driving when would she have time to make your packed lunch / do the ironing?

is it a "nasty" ferguson you want her to drive? ...if so, i cant blame her!
