Hey, I'm just tellin you what the powers that be are sayin. It's not the size of the city thats the problem, it's finding a venue that will have us, let us do what we want and at the right price. They have looked pretty much everywhere, even Jersey, which could host us oddly enough, but travel could be a problem! Bournmouth was the next best option as I understand it, but they weren't too keen because of the Tourquay scare stories. Gods waiting room see? Old people don't like the... erm... what ever it is we do that is sooooo bad. But I do agree on your blunt Blackpool point.

For years there has been talk of Ibiza. Apparently the 'season' out there starts on 1st May, which would mean very quiet in terms of the chavs, and tie in well with when you want to go. And some very good deals could be struck for chartered flights and accomadation, and the drinks would be far, far cheaper!!

i went with Tonbridge yfc the  early part of 2000 to blackpool and i sense i wasn't welcomed from the start ( all smiles and jab you in the back when your back turned feeling). i went with it.

to describe blackpool as cheap and nasty place to live let alone for the weekend.cheap tat on every corner.

Went to Tourquay last weekend for YFC South West Area Competitions Weekend and, apart from the dire club they chose to hold the dances in, it was a bloody good weekend. On top of that all this week there have been favourable reports in the local press saying how good the young farmers were and they are keen to have us all for National. I wouldn't have minded a cut of The Cider Press' profits for Saterday! It was rammed in there all day and a great atmosphere!
