Hi all. We are looking for a large barn/community centre to host our wedding reception in late summer of 2012 in Yorkshire or Derbyshire. We live in Sheffield, but have family connections in both counties. Ideally we would like to have a venue that can hold around 200 people with enough space for guests to camp so no-one has to drive home. After several weeks of searching we have been unable to find anywhere suitable, so our farming friend from Lincolnshire suggested we put a post on this site. Any help would be much appreciated. Hi Mark and Jen, when I started reading your post I thought at first my girlfriend had just written it... we're both sitting here with laptops doing the same kind of search. We have our own marquee already though - this isn't a pitch to try to hire it to you! If we find anywhere I'll let you know. Have you found anywhere that's possible?

There's a business opportunity for someone with land to host events here. I'm trying to find somewhere that can host maybe 300 people, mostly camping. I'm going to need B+B or self catering cottages onsite or nearby for a few of the older relatives. I've already got the marquee, know friends with bands and PA, and we will do all our own catering.

you could try contacting Buxton or Bakewell Young Farmers or the local NFU offices, they will either know of a venue or put word around through their members. Good Luck.
