So far, Bovril, Dick and myself have expressed an interest in repeating last years gathering. We met on Friday evening for supper and then spent Saturday am in meetings with interesting speakers and, after lunch, then went home.

That meeting was held in Shropshire in late January, and was attended by two folks from FW Towers and about 14 of the forum regulars. (I have edited this posting to reply to welshnwilling's posting  [just to keep the 'facts' together] . To keep things simple let us say Oswestry and the end of Jan again)

If someone really thinks they have a better or more acceptable idea. Go for it, but be prepared to take over the thread and lead it. As this is a job I do not want. I am happy to be a catalyst not the leader in this matter.

Late Jan or early Feb suits me fine and the venue last year I thought was excellent and I would be happy if we were to repeat the event. I suppose we need to see how many will join us.

Didn't come last year but would be keen to come this time round if I can.

It will be  greatly appreciated if yourself and Tim could accompany us on our hopefully annual gathering. I thought last years venue,timing ,good company and even better conversations were a delightful diversion from the every day grind and I would strongly recommend the event to all members of our forum. It was for me particularly fascinating to be able to put faces to some of our regulars and to see if their personas were similar to my expectations  gleaned from their postings and I certainly wasnt disappointed.

Just a timely reminder to members , we are meeting at the Lion Quays Hotel, Oswestry. SY11 3EN on Friday 10th February, having dinner and a good natter with a few beers ,staying overnight and hopefully having a speaker on the Saturday morning before leaving for home. I am hoping Tim and his team will be able to join us and hopefully sort out a speaker as they did last year.

Hi everyone

Sorry it's taken a while for the FW contingent to come back to you. Usual story of trying to organise diaries and lives!

I'll be along again this year - looking forward to meeting you all again over a few drinks and dinner. I might have to make a earlier exit on the Saturday to make it back in time for a commitment back in London, but shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Tim and I are going to put our heads together to come up with a speaker so leave that one with us. If you've got any ideas or someone you'd particularly like to hear from, feel free to drop me an email - rachel.jones@rbi.co.uk

I thoroughly enjoyed last years meeting and would have come again but, as I said early in this thread, lambing will prevent it.
