    pre sale tagging

Selling our breeding ewes next week but cant make head nor tails of defra rubbish on tagging, if we're selling ewes that have been bought onto farm i.e they are tagged with someone elses flock number, do we have to put one of our tags in before sending them to market, or on the movement license do we just list the differernt flock no's in the id column and the number of animals fitted with each flock no?

All killers were home bred so were tagged with our flock no at birth, nice and easy! didnt know if were different rules as not destined for slaughter. will ring auctioneers in morning to double check i think, aslong as they're happy cant see there's a prob.

No.  The only data currently required on the AML1 form is the total number of sheep in the batch, current forms do not have boxes for any other data.  If you are using old foms which had several lines for sheep details, you can just ignore them and put the total number only.

Thanks Jacobus, obviously using old forms which is confusing situation!!! O well, only wasted couple of hours counting no's of each flock no, atleast haven't got to go through them all again  to tag 'em!!

I swear they must change them weekly as every single time they seem different even if its only just one box they have to change it.
