Just saw the news that the Royal Show has decided to change it's dates for the second year in a row.  I know organisers said it was to give more time between shows, but surely all this changing dates will mean they lose visitors?  Does anyone know if attendence was as good as they said last year, or if the change is to cover up below average visitor numbers from this year's experiment?

If the Royal Show is to be a "business event" then it should be run on "business days". I fully support the RASE's decision to change the show days...For me the weekend gave totally he wrong atmosphere.

The Royal Show needs more than a date change. When compared to the Royal Welsh it is pathetic. I know I am not alone in thinking this, when attending the Royal this year I heard person after person complaining at the lack of trade stands and the show could not offer what they were looking for. I had to attend the Royal Welsh to get the machinery info I was looking for. The Royal may have been an excellent show 20 years ago but now it is very poor.

 

well i am afraid that i just cannot agree with any of this posts...they are PERPOSTUROUS!! the royal show is a rich farming heritage of this country and it shall and must continue the way it does...and during the week? no no NO! i canny have this!! it must, i repeat must, be at the weekend. then more people can go and enjoy it. yes i agree the machinary on display wasnt up 2 par...in fact it was quite frankly HORRIFIC...but still, surely, i repeat, surely we can all agree that the shere entertainment involved in the show was far above the standed that those welsh folk put on. they will not lose visitors if they change it! it must stay on the weekend! i cant leave my farm, where i work bloody hard 5days a week, to go galavanting to the royal show...on a weekend on the other hand...woah betide if you try and stop me!! i will be frolicing along without a doubt...
