We do a lot of bed work and wondered if any one has tried to spread fert on top of the beds as we have 20% of our land is wheelings.Has anyone tried with a aero type machine at 12meters or 24?

some machines can have the discharge spout diverted to throw on top the top[ of the bed but many of the 24 metre machine are not quite wide enough. Check the width of the booms and the number and type of outlets. We used to a lot with an older type nordstein machine but only on 12meter

We used to put potato fert on with a Nodet DPS12 with homemade deflectors fitted to get fert on top of the bed.It worked well but you had to be careful not to bash them about too much on the soil.If your spreader has an even no of outlets per bed covered then have a go.
