    SILAGE TEDDERS

YES IT WILL BE THAT TIME AGAIN SOON. I AM CURRENTLY TEDDING WITH AN OLD FAHR SUPER SIX AND ROWING UP WITH AN OLD PZ HAYBOB. I AM THINKING OF UPDATING THE TEDDER TO A THREE POINT LINKAGE HYDRAULIC FOLDING ONE AND KEEPING THE HAY BOB FOR ROWING UP. WOULD IT BE BETTER TO FORGET THE TWO OLD MACHINES AND JUST GO FOR A NEW HAYBOB TO DO BOTH JOBS. HAS ANYBODY GOT ANY COMMENTS. THE THREE POINT LINKAGE TEDDER THAT I AM CURRENTLY CONSIDERING IS A SECONDHAND NIEYMER. ANY COMMENTS.

Have a look at a Lely Stabilo 600. 3 point linkage mounted 4 rotor spreader and rowing up machine.

we bought a new kuhn 5001 tedder and used the haybob for rowing up only. should have done it years ago, makes a better more even job of spreading and i thinks saves at least one pass with haybob. on the average day we'll spread 70 acres of grass. the drier the crop the faster you can go. kuhn machines are competatively priced and built well. we made 150 acres of hay last year and had one breakdown which was a puncture.

We got one of those last year. So far it seems to be a very good machine although we have only used it for hay. It is extremely good at spreading out the material. It may not be suitable for some silage systems as it makes two rows out of the six metre cover but if you are using a normal haybob already then I guess it should fit the bill. It is also very fast with up to twenty acres tedding per hour possible in suitable fields without tangling the hay as only the haybob can. Bit pricey though!

if you get and tedders get one like kuhn or claas etc we had nieymer rake on demo and it was so flimsy and you could c it twisting and flexing

    not good

I use a kuhn 4 rota tedder and a 380 haybob for rowing up nether broke the bank both were second hand and made a good job yesterday.

Yet to see anything make a good job in the hands of someone going to fast.

Whats the verdict the lely 600 combi? does it honestly do a good job of spreading AND rowing? in past have struggled to find a machine that will do both well. 6m cover, what rows does that leave, 2 x 9'? How bads pricey?

makes a good job of spreading not so hot on the rowing often slightly taily rows and uneven (one row smaller than other)
