    Single farm Payments-- when?

I thought that I read in the press that payments were going to start on Dec1st, has anyone in England had their payments yet?

Can we keep a tally of whether the Scottish and Welsh payments come through before the English or not this year?

I got exited on Monday morning on the arrival of a letter from DEFRA but it was only to tell me that I had claimed for HFA payments, seven months ago.

Wouldn't it be great if the RPA finally acheived its target and gets the payments out ahead of schedule.I was born optimistic!!.

I think the RPA is making a small test run - but thta's all at this stage. The Welsh have already got the majority out.

SFP in the bank, the bills can wait for a month.
Hey, this is Europe. We took it from nobody; we won it from the bare soil that the ice left. The bones of our ancestors, and the stones of their works, are everywhere. Our liberties were won in wars and revolutions so terrible that we do not fear our governors: they fear us. Our children giggle and eat ice-cream in the palaces of past rulers. We snap our fingers at kings. We laugh at popes. When we have built up tyrants, we have brought them down. And we have nuclear weapons. -Ken MacLeod

A lucky few have been paid in England. The RPA has run a test which mean a few have been paid - we've yet to find out how many. But a lady from Kent has run to say they have got their money - and are dancing around the kitchen in celebration.

Great news. I tried asking the RPA how many it had made as part of the test run, but it said it wasn't in a position to say.

I've just spoken to a farmer in Devon - he's tried to ring the RPA 20 times this morning to find out where his payment is and has been cut off every time.

Is anyone else having problems getting in touch with them?

    Caroline,

His special agent must be on a covert mission with mine. Does ' out of the office at the moment', 'not due in until next Wednesday',or'on leave this week', really mean what they say? It's a bl--dy good job our special agents aren't livestock farmers, otherwise there would be some very hungry animals around, having to wait until next Wednesday to be fed.

It really is bad form not to answer phone calls, they really do not realise how difficult it is, to budget your cash flow at this time, when probably some 25% of turnover may arrive this month but may not arrive until June. The old system of drip feeding us part payments from July onwards was much easier on our bank balances.

I look out onto the Welsh border (4 mile away) and every one over there, that I have spoken to, had their money last week, and a lot more money/acre than we this side of the border will eventually get. Something terribly wrong somewhere!!!

Indeed. Not a level playing field is it? Bloody shambles and should be centrally administered from Brussels and done entirely electronically and paid in Euros.

The news out today is that the RPA has apparently paid £700m to 21,000 farmers.

]I suppose it's a start, but in total it has about £1.45bn to pay out to over 100,000 claimants....

Well done Jacobus, however being cross border I dont expect ours for months yet, if it follows tradition it will be September.  I have not got much sympathy for that farmer in Devon who rang the rpa 20 times to see where his payment has got to for christ sake!  I am rather impatient but usually wait until  May before I clog up the system  asking if there is a problem.

I expect to have to wait as I have a surname beginning with the letter W . When I was a National Serviceman I was usually at the end of the Pay Parade. Actually last year mine was paid early but to-date we have not had anything.

The  Rpa always makes a balls up of our Common land rights so I might get some money in about August with hopefully some to follow by Xmas . Just going by past years !!!!!!!

What people forget is that the payment window is open for payments to'start' in december and continue untill June. Not everyone can be paid at the beginning of the window. Some have to wait! And your right it doesn't get paid in alphabetical order. No-one is placed in any particular order except where it is on the pile!

Where you are in the queue usually comes down to how straightforward your claim is. If it's not changed from the previous year's I think it does help.
