    small farm wanted and advice

Hi Guys posted a comment a year or so ago as i wanted to change of career and i got some great advice, Glad to say it was a great choice, been working in the industry and me and the family love it. and would like to lease something small preferably not livestock. I am after advice on where to look for such opportunities as I am finding it a bit difficult to find, ( and tell me If we are going a bit to fast ) I would like it to be within the east midlands if possible any advice would be appreciated PS, I am an electrician and would be happy to help anyone in return for some more hands on experience Thanks in advance scott

Would the family be happy to live in a "temporary structure" for a few years? Not caravan. More like a park home?

What is it you really would like? "Small" really lends itself more to stock, unless you are going to do something like brew or make bread too.

You could always try the Tenant Farmers Association (TFA) as they might know about small farms to rent. Also, the local County Councils sometimes have land to rent. I'm sure you're well aware - but competition for small places can be intense as there are not many of them available and a lot of people looking for them!

Be interested to hear what, as a relative newcomes to farming, you've found you most and least like about it...
