    SP5 and ELS margins

I have 2 firlds with four metre EE2 entry level scheme margins around them. The handbook on page six seems to be confusing on how to enter the detail onto my field data sheets. Do i enter it as one parcel with one code? It is not set aside

I think I am correct in saying that as long as you are not claiming setaside on your strips then you enter them as the same code as the field. If you are claiming setaside on them you must divide the fields and use the appropriate codes. I think you would have divide the fields and use seperate codes if you are claiming for protein premium on a field with strips. Probably best to check with the helpline to be certain

I am of the same opinion, for 4 metre strips that are not set a side enter the whole field under one parcel and one code. For protien crops you would need to deduct the area of the strip from the figure you enter in column C12 (area to claim protien) but not C10 (area to activate entitlements).

    Derky,

My understanding from page six of the Single Payment Scheme Handout is that if your margins are in a field which is not set-aside then you should record them as the same land use code as the rest of the parcel eg OT1 for wheat and barley.

If however your margins are in a field that is set-aside then you do have to split the field and record the margins separately on your field data sheet. This is because ELS options are not allowed to be located on set-aside land (apart from the options highlighted in page 89 of the ELS handbook). The margins will have the land use code TG3 on the field data sheet and you will also need to include a sketch map with your application.
