Went to Lamma and looked at both.  Baileys didn't seem to care if they sold a trailer or not.  Stewart looked to have a good finish especially paint work.

I think stewart would be the best for grain but i don't think it would be cheapest of trailers, but saying there is nothing wrong with baileys trailer, both makes are well built.

Might be worth considering Redrock, excellent after sales

I have heard bailey are in financial difficulties, not bad trailers but a bit over rated, stewart are much the same. both classed as a premium trailer, that is until you look at something like a Richard Larrington, different league all together but you get what you pay for with trailers. If I was buying another trailer i would have a look at some irish ones like NC or Kane

Kane make a good trailer as do NC with hydraulic rear doors, rear steering axles wide running gear etc.

Kane trailer is so good Britains Farm toys now do a model if that's your thing check out  http://wedofarmtoys.co.uk/britains-kane-16-tonne-silage-trailer.html

There are other ones over here too including Redrock if you want a serious heavy duty trailer and Agrimac who would custom make

    Re: stewart or baileys.

I looked at Bailey & Stewart in 2009 for 2 x 18 tonne grain trailers. We went for Baileys in the end, mostly due to them having the sharpest pencils i.e. the cheapest. Being 8 miles from their old factory at Aunsby helped, I'm sure.

The Stewart seemed to be much better thought out but they wouldn't budge on price whereas Bailey did. I chose 650mm Nokian Country King tyres, full width front wndow, air & hydraulic brakes, along with a second set of lights on the tail board & full suspension.

Bailey have recently bought & equipped a new factory at Sleaford, so they have to churn out trailers pretty quickly to recover their considerable investment.

    Hope that helps.
