Depends what sort of farm, on any farm theres alot of insurance issue's with a lad of your age, a arabel farm in summer then mr boss man would want you to at least be able to drive a tractor and have some expierence so he can stick you on corn cart duties, as for livestock, might be able to get few odd jobs here and there but doubtful.

Anyone would like to correct me if im wrong?

Would of though you would be abal to find work milking ect most likley not any tractor work beacuse of lack of expereanc/licance and your age.

im in exactly the same possition as you! I've managed to find a job feeding a new batch of cattle morning and nights as the rest of the farmers are busy with harvest. I also had a job last year where i was pushing up wheat and stacking bales! good luck with getting a job

No offence but dont expect to get a great job with loads of variety - you will be able to get a job but it will probably be the crappy jobs that people dont want, sweeping grainstores/washing tractors and trailers etc etc but eventually as you do more on the farm it would be expected that you would do more work. Best thing to do is do some voluntary work experience pre-harvest or in winter and then if you graft the chances are they will ask you back.

Get your head down and do some graft and it will benefit you the most - even if its just mucking out or doing rubbish jobs, then if they know you will work, they will probably give you better jobs and it will benefit you alot!

Try doing work experience, weather it be through school or organised by yourself then see how you do!

ok thanks for the advice. im not really picky as i would be grateful for any work even if it was just washing the machines and stuff like that.

i presumed that i wouldnt be able too by what previous posts had said e.g-- insurance ect..

    thanks

Dont forget that any farmer is busy around this time of year and im sure would be gratefull of an extra pair of hands!

You probably wont get the best jobs but then everyone has to start at the bottom sometime...
