Time to take a giant egg to Westminster

The sight of a giant sausage and a pantomime pig parading through the streets of Westminster is one that will stick in the mind for a long time.

More than that, it has really grabbed the attention of the media, politicians and the public, highlighting the plight of the nation's pig farmers who are suffering from rising feed costs and loss-inducing prices.

Pig producers have a history of public demonstration when things get really tyough. Winnie the Pig made Westminster her second home back in 2000, returning to protest again eight years later.

But what about egg and poultrymeat producers?

Their plight is just as bleak. Isn't it time a giant egg or a giant chicken was seen at the House of Commons - or maybe poultry producers prefer to suffer in slience?

The release on to the streets of Westminster of a quarter of a million POLs should make the point nicely. The pile of leaflets left with them could simply say. "They are yours to keep as we can't afford to."

In short, do to the politicians, what those folks who think a dog is for Christmas do to Battersea dogs' home.

    1. Why wait to point of lay? Given the number of cancelled pullet orders, there are plenty of even younger birds looking for a new home right now. Smile

I think this is a great idea - I'm all for poeple taking to the streets.

    I'll back that.

I am afraid that after a long life observing the political scene, the only way the public will get anyithing changed is to force a crisis.
