When you buy a tractor from a dealer, what do you expect him to knock off the asking price on no trade deals.

Difficult one as the second hand value is determind by the make and specification. JD command a higher second hand value than Ford or Case, but they cost more in the 1st instance. The more money you can keep in the bank the better. Therefore I opt for the Ford or the Case. Reliability is the same whatever colour you buy now so that does not really come into it. Put it this way I bought a new MX135 last year for £25,000. JD wanted £32,000 for a 6820. Obviously I went with Case but now if I wanted to sell it I would ony get £20,000 compared to selling the deere you would get £28,000. Surely if your barteringover a second hand tractor you want 10% off the quoted price.

That was Burdens but it was over 12 months ago now. Possibly they were reducing the price to get some sold initially. Whats the cost of a 6820 now then - bog standard spec.
